How Does a Focus Hub Keep Your Team on Track and Strategic Goals on Target?

At Align, we’re reframing how we talk about dashboards.

Nearly every platform worth its price offers some version of an overview page — a single view supposed to give you a snapshot of where things stand. What most of them are missing is any meaningful connection between what you’re looking at and what you should do next. You get data, but you don’t see whether your quarterly goals are on track, or what needs to happen today before it derails the quarter.

Salesforce gives your sales team a view. Power BI gives your analysts a deep dive. Both dashboards are useful, but siloed. They’re built for a specific summary, not for the leader who needs to see the whole business in one place without clicking through multiple screens to get the full picture.

What we’ve created at Align is different. We call it a Focus Hub: a central place where CEOs, team leaders, and individual contributors go not just to see where things stand, but to orient the day, own their priorities, and keep the whole company moving in the same direction.

Here’s what a focus hub offers, and most importantly, how to use it to save time and drive results.

The Company Focus Hub: One View, A Global Pulse

The baseline habit is to log in every morning.

Before a weekly team meeting, a daily huddle, or any conversation that requires you to know the numbers, this is your one place to go to get a pulse on the entire business. Every critical metric, key priority, and goal update is in a single view. And your team sees the same thing.

That matters more than it sounds. When data lives in separate tools, discrepancies creep in. One leader pulls from last week’s export. Another works from a report that refreshed differently. Conversations that should be about decisions become conversations about which number is right. The Company Focus Hub eliminates that.

You see up to five Critical Numbers (the metrics that matter most to the company or a specific department) pinned at the top of the view. These metrics, along with all the company KPIs for the quarter, are displayed here. And with integrations, they’re always current. You aren’t chasing updates or analyzing stale data, so your decisions and follow-ups are timely and impactful.

The priority heat map shows week-over-week progress against quarterly goals, so you can see at a glance whether the team is on track before the quarter closes.

Filter by team to narrow the focus for a specific meeting. Click into any metric to see the trend over the last period or quarter. Set targets so the team knows not just where they are, but whether they’re on pace for the end of the quarter.

Your company’s foundation lives here too — core values, purpose, and long-term goals pulled directly from your strategic plan and visible to everyone who logs in. eNPS sits here as well — team sentiment in the same view as your KPIs, not in a separate system you open twice a year or piece together from multiple HR reports.

The Personal Focus Hub: A Smart Daily Starting Point

The Company Focus Hub tells you how the business is running. Your Personal Focus Hub tells you where you need to focus today.

This is where the Critical Numbers, KPI Cards, and the priorities tied to your name all live together. You can see your own targets and how you’re performing without pulling a report or scheduling a check-in. Add team KPIs and meeting agendas directly into the view so everything you need is in one place before the day starts.

Red, yellow, green signals tell you how things are performing without requiring analysis. Changes in value and percentage are both visible, so you’re seeing momentum, not just status.

Ten minutes here (scanning what’s green, flagging what’s yellow or red) and you know exactly where you need to commit time before the day fills itself.

How the Focus Hub Drives Quarterly Goal Execution

Visibility alone doesn’t close the quarter successfully. What matters most is the actions you take after you review the Focus Hub.

When a Critical Number turns yellow, you have a named owner to call. When the priority heat map shows two consecutive weeks of stalled progress, you have enough to have a specific conversation. Not a general check-in, but one focused on exactly what’s stalled. When eNPS dips in the same quarter a key initiative is struggling, you’re in a position to connect those signals rather than treat them as separate problems.

The Focus Hub is streamlined. It doesn’t bury what matters. It points out what needs follow-up. And when you get in the habit of opening it every morning, your read on the business gets sharper, your decisions get faster, and the gap between tracking goals and finishing them closes.

For a deeper look at why that rhythm matters, Reporting Doesn’t Compound. But Habits Do. is worth the read.

What the Daily Practice Looks Like

Same time every morning. Open the Focus Hub and run through three things:

Company view first. Scan Critical Numbers and the priority heat map. Anything yellow or red earns your attention before your first meeting. Anything that hasn’t been updated recently is a conversation worth having today.

Personal view next. Check your KPI Cards and priorities. What moved? What needs your action?

One or two actions, not ten. The check-in surfaces what needs your attention (a call, a decision, a quick follow-up). It’s clarity on where your time makes the most impact before the day takes over.

Fifteen to twenty minutes, done consistently, is what keeps quarterly goals from drifting. You’re watching the signals every week, not catching up to them at the quarterly review.

If your team is still working on connecting annual strategy to quarterly execution, The 90-Day Translation walks through exactly how to close that gap.
