Alignment Company Survey

You can take the Alignment Company Survey in your software by navigating to the Surveys in the Culture tab or download the PDF – Are you as aligned as you think.

Why take the survey?

According to Verne Harnish’s book, Scaling Up, there are 10 fundamental habits that support the successful execution of your strategy.  These “Rock Habits” are a great tool to assess the areas where your company excels and the areas that need additional focus this year or quarter.

Successful businesses use this checklist as a blueprint, very few have mastered every section!

Alignment is a crucial indicator of how well your company is organized and positioned to meet its quarterly and annual goals. There’s no one size fits all solution to scaling successfully, but executives at the most effective organizations prioritize alignment as step one to getting there.

How do you administer?

Administer the survey to your whole team at the beginning of every quarter to see your improvement and identify blind spots you may want to work on.

  1. Navigate to the survey in your Culture tools → Survey section. Make sure the messaging is appropriate for your specific company.
  2. Send the survey to everyone on your team and encourage participation.  We recommend keeping the survey anonymous!
  3. Evaluate the results and make a plan to tackle the area that needs the most focus.

Analyze the results.

We recommend two options to calculate your scores.

Option1: Take the average score for each question and rank them from highest to lowest.  The highest score is the area you do very well.  The lowest is the area you should create company priority around to work on this quarter.

Option 2: Average the scores in each group create a master Alignment score separated into Priorities, Data, and Meeting Rhythms.  Remember, each of these habits touches on multiple areas of improvement and should be reviewed in both calculation options.

Priorities: 1, 2, 8
Data: 5, 6, 9, 10
Meeting Rhythms: 3, 4, 7
